The governor of Suez said he has replaced the manager of an orphanage after discovering that resident children were allegedly practicing homosexuality.
Al-Araby al-Sorwy told CBC TV on Thursday that some children also suffered from aconuresis. He added that medical measures had been taken to rehabilitate the children.
“The incident had been discovered weeks ago, but was not made public due to its sensitivity,” he added.
Sorwy’s disclosure came just hours after another manager of an orphanage in Giza was referred to trial after he was videotaped by his wife while allegedly beating and rebuking orphans in a brutal manner.
