Six student movements at Cairo University on Wednesday called for a march to halt gas exports and end normalization with Israel.
The march is scheduled to begin at the university’s main gate and head to the Israeli Embassy in Cairo on Wednesday afternoon.
The Palestinian Revolution Supporters Group, The Islamic Work Party, Democratic Students and Egyptians against Zionists are among the student groups supporting the march.
The demonstration comes in response to Israeli Ambassador Shimon Peres' call for Egyptian youth to normalize relations with Israel, according to a statement from the groups.
The student groups' statement also called on Egypt to immediately halt gas exports to Israel and the construction of a wall between Egypt and the Gaza Strip.
