A student named Peter Nessim died on Thursday in Ahmed Bahgat secondary school in Haram while jumping over the fence with two other students to skip classes after he fell on an iron rod.
The Giza Education Directorate referred the headmaster, two teachers and two security personnel to investigation.
Giza's governor said the minister of education is closely following the investigations.
Education Minister Mahmoud Aboul Nasr said in a press statement on Thursday that some accidents in schools are the result of shortcomings and that better security measures would be implemented next week. “I sleep only four hours a day because there is a lot to do,” he said.
In Assiut, the headmaster of Al-Obour school was referred to investigation after a student died when a fountain fell on his head.
In Qaliubiya, the owners of the Ibn Al-Hakam school fired shots at the building during a dispute with the administration.
