A member of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority’s media center, Manar Ghanem, denied that Storm Daniel was the cause of a strange odor reported Tuesday morning across Egypt on social media.
Ghanem told Al-Masry Al-Youm: “There is no relation between the smell that was detected and Storm Daniel.”
Storm Daniel is responsible for dust, rain and weather fluctuations, she explained, adding that it has been impacting Egypt since Monday and reached Cairo Governorate on Tuesday.
Ghanem warned of unstable weather due to the Libyan depression.
The impact of the depression, which struck the eastern regions of Libya, extends to northern Egypt, reaching areas of the Delta and Cairo on Tuesday.
