Bad weather conditions in the Mediterranean Sea broke an international underwater internet cable located 250km off Egypt's coast.
Although government sources claimed Egypt’s internet remains unaffected, Telecom Egypt formed an operations room on Monday in preparation for possible failures.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian Meteorology Authority said Cairo temperatures would reach highs of 18 degrees Celsius on Tuesday during the daytime and 9 degrees at night. On Wednesday, dust storms are expected to calm as the temperature is projected to rise to 21 degrees during the daytime and 11 degrees at night.
Fires and car accidents reportedly ensued in some areas after Sunday’s heavy rains tore electrical lines.
