The main EGX30 index of the stock exchange fell 0.76 percent on Monday to close at 6,801.33 points.
The small and medium stocks index EGX70 fell by 0.47 percent to 549.28 points, while the broader EGX100 index declined by 0.65 percent to reach 930.87 points.
The capital market lost LE2 billion, closing at LE429.4 billion.
Experts said purchases by Arab and Egyptian investors proved that there is confidence in the market.
