Stock market hits highest level in seven months

The Egyptian stock exchange continued to gain at the close of Monday’s trading session, supported by purchases of Egyptian investors that are optimistic about the economy's ability to recover in light of stimulating measures taken by the government, and after the Central Bank reduced interest rates to encourage investment.

Market capital gained LE3 billion to reach LE9.376 billion, the highest level in seven months, in a total trading of LE695 million.

The main EGX30 index rose by 1.09 percent to 5647.6 points, also its highest level in seven months, the small and medium enterprises EGX70 index rose by 0.68 percent to 483.71 points, and the broader EGX100 index rose by 0.73 percent to 809.67 points.
