Egyptian stock indexes collectively rose over this week, as the main stock index – the EGX30 – increased by 3.08 percent to close at 6,171 points.
The EGX70 index, which tracks small and medium sized businesses, increased 2.2 percent to close at 515 points, while the broader EGX100 index went up by 1.76 percent over the week, closing at 865 points.
The weekly report from the Egyptian stock exchange showed that market capitalization of shares for listed companies rose by LE 6 billion, hitting LE 399.2 billion in total.
Trading turnover has reached LE3.7 billion through trading of around 1.013 million securities made across 153,000 transactions, compared to a total turnover of LE500 million and total volume of 176 million securities over 26,000 transactions during the past week.
