Stock exchange loses LE700 million Tuesday

Tuesday’s trading session was marked by a state of caution among traders against the backdrop of political tensions as well as anticipation for the results of the referendum on the new constitution.
 
EGX30 index fell by 0.07 percent after to reach 6243.88 points. EGX70 index fell by nearly 0.07 percent to close at 519.44 points. While the EGX100 index rose by 0.21 percent to close at 871.5 points.
 
The value of trading reached LE274.8 million through 14.4 dealings. The market capitalization lost about LE700 million to end up at LE405.2 billion by the end of the trading session.
 
The stock market lose 700 million pounds in the end of trading Tuesday.
 
Rania Badawy, head of one of the brokerage firms at the stock exchange, said that the rise of the stock indexes depends on several factors, most notably the popular consensus on the new constitution and the government's ability to attract more Arab and foreign investments.
