The Ministry of Health activated on Wednesday an application called Egypt Health Passport on mobile phones in two versions: one for Android and the other for iPhone users, to serve as an e-health passport at airports, as an alternative to paper certificates confirming vaccine status.
But what do we know about the application?
The application shows whether the person has received the vaccine or not, and is equipped with a “QR code”. The code can be read in all airports worldwide as well as domestically in Egypt and shows the type of vaccine that the traveler has received and how many doses.
All family members can register their data on the application, but each person has his/her own data.
In case of losing the phone or deleting the application, it can be downloaded again with the same data that was registered the first time.
How to use the app:
The traveler will have to enter their data on the application.
The application identifies the traveler’s approved certificate of vaccination with the COVID-19 vaccine.
It includes a feature to show the position of the vaccination through three colors: red if the person has not taken the vaccine, yellow if the person has taken the first dose of the vaccine, and green if the person has received two doses of the vaccine.
The ministry pointed out that the application can be used in any place, not only airports.
It also stressed it will ban employees from entering their workplace unless they are vaccinated or submit a document showing that they tested negative for the virus every week.
