The announcement of first-round parliamentary elections results have been postponed to Friday, Egyptian state TV said reported on Thursday.
The postponement comes due to delays in vote counting, said State TV, without defining the time the results will be announced.
Head of the high election committee, Ibrahim Abdel Moez, was to announce the results of the first phase of the parliamentary elections on Thursday.
Preliminary results revealed strong wins for the Justice and Freedom Party, the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, followed by the Salafi Nour Party.
