Prime Minister Kamal al-Ganzouri said the Cabinet is considering giving state employees 16 and 17 June off to encourage voting in the presidential runoff.
In a statement to the press on Wednesday, Ganzouri said the government is also considering reducing ticket prices for transportation between Cairo and other governorates by 50 percent on the election days.
Ganzouri called on all citizens to vote in the runoff. He stressed that all state authorities are impartial toward the two candidates.
"What is happening in Egypt should be respected by the whole world," Ganzouri said, adding that, “No country in the world can satisfy everyone.”
He said that the cost of the elections over the last six months, including the parliamentary elections, has been LE2.6 billion.
