Stable start to Autumn in Egypt as temperatures begin to decrease

A member of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority‘s media center, Manar Ghanem, stated that the autumn season officially began on September 21.

While the season is characterized by sharp and rapid fluctuations, its temperatures are generally moderate, avoiding the significant highs or lows seen in summer or winter, she explained.

During a televised statement, she added that the first week of autumn is seeing relatively stable weather. Low and medium-altitude clouds are helping to bring temperatures down slightly, and there’s a low chance of light rainfall in limited areas along the northern coasts and the Nile Delta, which will not affect daily activities.

She warned of dense mist or fog on agricultural roads, highways, and roads near bodies of water in the coming period.

This could reduce horizontal visibility to near-zero on certain days – therefore she urged drivers to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations.

Early October will bring a noticeable temperature difference between day and night, making it necessary to wear light autumn clothing, especially for children in the early mornings when they head to school.

The chance of rainfall is expected to increase in the second half of autumn and could even lead to flash floods in some mountainous areas, such as Sinai, the Red Sea, and Upper Egypt.

Finally, she advised citizens to follow daily weather forecasts throughout the autumn season, particularly before any unstable weather conditions, as the authority provides advance warnings to help people take the necessary precautions.
