Special needs citizens stage protests in Sharqiya

Hundreds of citizens with special needs staged protests outside the Sharqiya governorate headquarters in Zagazig on Thursday. They blocked the corniche in protest of a failure to appoint them to the Ministry of Education.

Sharqiya had announced a competition for the appointment in 1,950 citizens with special needs, in accordance to the law which allocates five percent of public job vacancies to them.

The medical examination found that 400 applicants were not eligible for the competition, which prompted them to contest the results and stage protests.

The governorate is forming another medical committee to reconsider the matter.
