The upcoming parliamentary elections, scheduled to begin on 22 March, is facing a new judicial challenge, judicial sources confirmed Sunday.
The Commissioners of the Supreme Constitutional Court issued a report recommending the acceptance of appeals on Article 25 of Law No. 45 of 2014 on the excersise of political rights, Article 10 of Law No. 46 of 2014 and Law No. 202 of 2014 relating to the demarcation of electoral constituencies, the judicial sources added.
Chancellor Abdel Aziz Salman, head of the Supreme Constitutional Court's commissioners, said the commissioners have not yet concluded the report and expected the report to be finalized by the end of the week.
The Health Ministry announced that 9,680 candidates have registered their data to conduct medical examination, 476 of whom did not attend, and 1,001 others did not continue the examinations.
In related news, the Supreme Administrative Court postponed Saturday its decision on dissolving the Salafi-led Nour Party to 18 April.
