A policeman from Kerdasa police station was killed early on Saturday, according to security sources.
Investigators say six masked gunmen on motorbikes shot the policeman while leaving Bani Megadwal village in Kerdasa, Giza, then escaped.
The victim died on his way to the Agouza police hospital. Security source denied links between the accident and protest staged by Kerdasa residents on Friday in support of a young man who was allegedly killed by police.
The source added the man who was killed on Friday was hit by a car on Mehwar road while security troops were following a suspect.
