A Central Security soldier was killed and two others were injured on Saturday during an IED explosion that targeted an armored vehicle on the ring road in Arish City, North Sinai, the Interior Ministry announced.
A security official said in a press statement that an IED planted by unidentified criminals on the roadside of the ring road of Arish City exploded Saturday, killing soldier Islam Abdel Kader and injuring First Lieutenant Haitham Emad and a soldier. The injured were transported to the hospital.
A claim was filed on the incident and security forces later combed the area for evidence.
