Social media users also launched the hashtag "We are with Egypt" which later became a top trend on Twitter.

Many satellite channels also decided to film and air their shows from Sharm el-Sheikh, including al-Nahar and Sada al-Balad channels.

Popular Egyptian singer Mohamed Munir announced a concert in the resort city, calling on people to support tourism. Lebanese singer and actress Nicole Saba praised Munir's call on Facebook.

Syrian singer Samo Zain suggested the Tourism Ministry hold concerts in Sharm el-Sheikh, saying he was ready to perform there for free.

A number of Tunisian artists shot a video that was circulated on social media under the title "Visit Egypt." Fourteen Tunisian artists participated in the video, including Lotfy Bushnaq, Saber Rebae and Dorra.

Kuwaiti writer Ahmed al-Jaralla also called on Kuwaiti people to support tourism in Egypt. "We will not forget Egypt's favors to Kuwait's people…the Kuwaiti people will plan a campaign to promote tourism in Egypt."

Mohamed Abdel Gabbar, head of the international tourism sector with the Tourism Promotion Authority, said the authority is working on a plan to manage the crisis, including communication with travel agencies, especially in Russia and Britain.
