Smile, Halloween top foreign movies box office in Egypt

The foreign movies shown in Egypt made a good recovery over the past 24 hours, with 17 films earning up to LE 1.297 million.

The horror movie “Smile”, written and directed by Parker Finn, starring Sosie Bacon, Kyle Gallner, Jessie T Usher, and Caitlin Stasey, topped the box office with earnings of LE609,000.

It is followed by the star George Clooney’s movie “Ticket to Paradise” with LE 151,000, and co-starring Julia Roberts, Billie Lourd and Lucas Bravo, directed by Ol Parker, written by Daniel Pipski.

Rami Malek’s movie “Amsterdam” grossed about LE 83,000, and co-stars Margot Robbie, Christian Bale, Taylor Swift, Zoe Saldana, Anya Taylor Joy, John David Washington, Michael Shannon, Chris Rock, Robert De Niro, and directed by David O Russell.

“Bullet Train” made LE 73,000, directed by David Leitch, written by Kotaro Isaka, starring Brad Pitt, Joey King, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Miraj Grbić.

“The Woman King” earned about LE 51,000, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, written by Maria Bello and ‎Dana Stevens, starring Viola Davis, Thuso Mbedu, Lashana Lynch, Sheila Atem, John Boyega, Jimmy Udukoya, Masali Paduza, Jayme Lawson.

“Don’t Worry Darling”, directed by Olivia Wilde, written by Katie Silberman, Carey Van Dyke, Shane Van Dyke, made revenues of LE 45,000. The movie starring Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, Chris Pine, Olivia Wilde, Kiki Layne, Gemma Chan, Nick Kroll, Sydney Chandler, Kate Berlant.

“Barbie”, starring Margot Robbie, Ryan Reynolds, directed by Greta Gerwig, script by Noah Baumbag, made LE 12,000.

Animated comedy “Minions: The Rise of Gru” directed by Brad Ableson and starring Steve Carell, Taraji P. Henson, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Pierre Coffin, made LE 7,830.

“Tad The Lost Explorer and The Emerald Tablet” earned about LE 5,365, directed and written by Enrique Gato, starring Oscar Barberan, Luis Posada, Michelle Jenner, Anushka Aalborg, Alexandra Jimenth, Tito Valverde.

Revenues for the movie “Top Gun” decreased significantly to LE4,027 on Friday, starring Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, Val Kilmer, Jennifer Connelly, Glenn Powell, and John Hamm, directed by Joseph Kosinsky, written by Erin Kruger, Eric Warren Singer, Christopher Macquarie.

The Indian film “Vikram Vedha”, starring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan, directed by writers Pushkar and Gayathri, earned LE739.

Egyptian theaters received four new films on Thursday, including the movie “Halloween Ends”, starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Nick Castle and Kyle Richards, and it earned LE 181,000.

“The Enforcer” starring Antonio Banderas, Kate Bosworth, Mark Reno Smith and Natalie Byrne, which earned only LE13,000.

“The Good House”, starring Sigourney Weaver, Kevin Klein, Morena Bakrin and Rob Delaney, which earned “LE5,468”.

The movie “Big Trip 2” starring Christine Galen, earned only LE40 in 24 hours.
