Slaughtering animals on Giza streets warrants LE 3,000 fine

The Giza Governorate announced that slaughterhouses will be opened free of charge to citizens throughout the Eid al-Adha holiday.

This comes to encourage people to slaughter animals there and not in the streets in order to preserve public hygiene.

The owner of the animal must bring his own butcher.

Sources at Giza governorate said that a fine of LE 3,000 will be imposed on slaughtering in the streets and setting up marquees for slaughtering animals during Eid al-Adha.

The National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) expected that Tuesday, June 27, will be the Day of Arafa, and Wednesday, June 28, the first day of Eid al-Adha.

According to the NRIAG, the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, where many Muslims fast starts Monday.
