Nasr City Misdemeanor Court on Wednesday sentenced 16 Al-Azhar students, including six girls, to four years in prison for staging riots on 12 January 2014.
The lawyers kept shouting in rejection as the court was announcing the verdict, contending that the court did not consider their requests.
The students were charged with assembling, resisting the authorities, blocking roads and destroying public and private properties.
