CAIRO, Aug 15 (MENA) – President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has voiced Egypt’s appreciation for Germany’s expertise in the field of operation and management systems.
During a meeting with the board chairman of Germany’s railway company Deutsche Bahn (DB), the president issued directives to sign a contract with the German railway giant to operate and manage the high-speed electric train network in Egypt.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Transport Minister Kamel el Wazir, President and CEO of Elsewedy Electric Ahmed Elsewedy and Chairman of the National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) Sherif Hassan.
The president also pressed for honing skills of Egyptian technicians by making use of the German work environment, which is characterized by accuracy, high discipline and good quality, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.
For his part, Wazir reviewed his ministry’s efforts to reach an agreement with the German company to manage and operate the high-speed three-line electric train network in Egypt, which extends to 2,000 km.
The German official, meanwhile, expressed happiness to meet President Sisi, stressing that his company is pleased to cooperate with the Transport Ministry to operate the high-speed electric train network in Egypt.
He added that his company will also train Egyptian engineers and technicians, praising developmental projects witnessed by Egypt in recent years under the leadership of President Sisi. (MENA)
