President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi visited the sexual assault victim who was harassed in Tahrir Square during celebrations of his victory in the presidential elections earlier this week.
He apologized to her and promised to hold the perpetrators accountable.
“I am calling on the interior and justice ministers and all police and army personnel to put an end to this phenomenon,” Sisi added.
Accompanying Sisi were Defense Minister Sidqi Subhi and Chief of Staff Mahmoud Hegazy.
The victim complained that the video of the incident was posted on the Internet, which made Sisi apologize to her again.
