President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi has called on the interior minister to expedite the arrest of the killer of activist Shaimaa al-Sabbagh, who was murdered hours before the fourth anniversary of 2011 revolution during a vigil at Talaat Harb Square.
“I will not tie your hands up with revenge to Egypt’s martyrs,” Sisi said in his speech at Galaa theater in attendance of ministers of defense, interiors, police and armed forces figures, Al-Azhar grand Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayyeb, Pope Tawadros and several politicians, artists and media professionals on Sunday.
“You will take revenge to the martyrs, protect Egypt and die for it,” he added.
The president warned police and military fores against injustice or killing the innocent. “The honorable ones only fight this way. Whoever do this will certainly be victorious.
“Revenge does not mean killing the innocent,” he added.
Scores of military personnel and citizens were killed on Thursday in a terrorist attack in Arish city.
