Defense Minister Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said that the armed forces and police will confront with force any attempt to threaten the security of Egyptians, adding that "the process of securing the referendum proved to the world our ability to enforce security in our country."
In a speech in celebration of Police Day on Tuesday at the Police Academy, Sisi said that the armed forces and police are the protective shields of the homeland.
Sisi also praised the national role played by the Interior Ministry in maintaining security and stability.
The Muslim Brotherhood said that it is planning major protests on the third anniversary of the 25 January revolution in hopes of bringing Morsy back to power.
