Sisi to relaunch Egypt’s space agency: NARSS official

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi seeking to relaunch the Egyptian space agency project that stumbled in the 1960s, according to Alaa al-Nahry, the deputy head of the National Authority for Remote Sensing a Space Sciences (NARSS).

"There is a real political will to establish the Egyptian dream with Egyptian hands," Nahry said in an interview with Al-Ghad satellite channel.

He said that the space agency would play of a very important role in development at all levels, adding that Egypt will make five small satellites starting from next year.

He explained that UAE has recently stepped into the space technology and exploration arena, developing their KhalifaSat using only Emirati engineers.

Egypt has been preparing the way for the launch of its own space agency by holding discussions with specialists from Fussia, France and Kazakhstan.
