President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Thursday 9/3/2023 conferred over the phone with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said the conversation witnessed an exchange of greetings between the two leaders on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries.
In this framework, the two leaders addressed means of beefing up ties in the various fields especially the joint development projects which are currently underway, said the spokesman.
The two leaders also appreciated the historical and distinguished relations between the two countries at the popular and official levels, with an emphasis on further pushing them forward in the coming phase, added the spokesman.
The two leaders also probed the latest regional and international developments, asserting the importance of supporting efforts to maintain stability in the Middle East region and settle current crises in a way that achieves the interests of the peoples’ of the region, Fahmy noted.
They also held consultations on means of overcoming the current international crises, especially the food crisis, asserting the importance of bolstering food security especially in the afflicted countries in Africa which are the most influenced by such crises, according to the spokesman.
