"Those who oppose (President Abdel Fattah) al-Sisi would beat themselves with shoes if they knew what he and the Armed Forces have done for Egypt. They would know that they were unaware, and understood and knew nothing," said TV host Ahmed Moussa on TV channel Sada al-Balad Monday evening.
Sisi has done a lot for Egypt, Moussa said. The president has played a great role in rescuing Egypt from the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group, which posed a great threat to the country, he continued.
Moussa is well-known for his pro-Sisi stances and emphasized during his show that Sisi carries a great deal of weight on his shoulders and exerts a great amount of effort into his work.
Criticism of Sisi has been on the rise, however, since the first round of parliamentary election. The low turnout of voters has led some critics to believe it is a representation of the decreasing popularity of the presidency.
The recent flooding in Alexandria also resulted in criticism toward the president and even pro-regime media are starting to hold Sisi accountable for deteriorating political and economic conditions.
During a speech on Sunday, Sisi fought back against the media over their criticism of him, claiming the shots taken at him were inappropriate.
Lawyer Khaled Abu Bakr had delivered a scathing criticism of Sisi during an Orbit channel interview on October 25 with host Amr Adib, saying "as long as the president meets with the executive directors of Siemens Company 14 times a month, we are not going to build efficiencies."
