President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stressed Thursday keenness on upgrading joint cooperation to strengthen bilateral coordination and consultation on the various regional issues.
During a phone call initiated by the Italian premier, the two sides lauded distinguished relations binding Egypt and Italy, as well as existing cooperation, with a view to addressing many challenges in the Mediterranean region, said Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmi.
The pair discussed bilateral ties and the latest developments regarding a number of issues; notably the global food crisis and illegal migration, said the spokesman.
They also exchanged views on a host of regional and international issues of mutual concern, he added.
