Sisi implores government to focus aid towards neediest people

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi urged the government on Monday to focus its strategies on helping the neediest people and ensuring the delivery of aid and support as part of the country’s plan for comprehensive social protection.

During a ministerial meeting, Sisi also asked the government to take measures to preserve family cohesion, such as educating young people about marriage and reducing divorce rates.

Sisi discussed the government’s plans and programs of social protection and the financial resources which the government allocated for the programs after the government decided to merge the “Takaful wa Karama” program with the social insurance program.

Presidency spokesperson Bassam Radi added that the meeting also discussed several projects, including the national project to raise awareness of young people on marriage “Mouda” and to reduce rates of divorce.

The meeting presented the activation of the law for people with special needs and the establishment of a charity fund to support people with special needs.
