Shura Council speaker condemns sit-ins

“Continuous strikes and sit-ins would not bring good to Egypt,” said Shura Council speaker Ahmed Fahmy, stressing the need for cohesion and solidarity among all political forces and parties so that Egypt can escape the current situation and by placed on the path of progress and democratic transformation.

At his meeting with the ambassador of Kazakhstan in Cairo on Wednesday, Fahmy said the government needs to attract investment and and exploit resources optimally. “This is the only way to achieve stability,” he said.

He also stressed the need for exchanging expertise between the two countries in political, economic and cultural realms, through high-level parliamentary and ministerial visits.
