Shoukry Heads to Spain to Take Part in Dialogue Session on Palestinian Cause Developments

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry headed to the Spanish capital Madrid Sunday morning to take part in a session of consultations on the Palestinian cause, especially on the Gaza war, as well as efforts aimed at recognizing an independent Palestinian state.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said Shoukry will discuss with Spanish officials growing distinguished relations between the two countries.

He said the top diplomat will hold talks with Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez on the role played by Spain to end the war in the Palestinian territory and resume peace talks on the basis of the two-state solution in light of Spain’s historical support of the Palestinian cause.

According to the Spokesman, Shoukry will follow up on cooperation domains topped by economic one and efforts to lure Spanish investments into Egypt as well as coordinating efforts to face challenges in the Mediterranean region especially illegal immigration.
