The Sharm el-Sheikh International Airport on Saturday received the first direct flights of Air Cairo coming from the Spanish capital of Madrid, with 156 Spanish tourists on board, including journalists and travel writers.
Air Cairo’s direct flights between the cities of Madrid and Sharm el-Sheikh are scheduled to continue until October with a weekly flight.
The number of flights may increase according to supply and demand.
These direct flights are an important part of the Egyptian state’s efforts to develop tourism and air traffic coming from European cities to Egyptian tourist destinations.
Sharm el-Sheikh was chosen thanks to its stunning vistas, which have made it a leading global tourist destination that attracts tourists from across the globe.
