Hotel occupancy rates in Sharm el-Sheikh have risen since the beginning of August, even though Egyptian and Arab tourists have mostly left the resort city since the start of Ramadan.
Salem Saleh, the head of the Tourism Authority in the city, said hotel occupancy rates have increased 58 percent with more Russian, British and Italian tourists arriving.
In statements to the press, Saleh said he anticipates a greater increase in occupancy rates as Sinai becomes more stable.
Tourism officials had complained about a drop in the number of tourists visiting Egypt since the breakout of the 25 January revolution, which ousted former President Hosni Mubarak.
Some in the tourism industry blamed Sharm el-Sheikh's decline in tourist activity on Mubarak's incarceration at a hospital there.
Mubarak left the city when he was summoned to court on 3 August.
