Security authorities in Daqahlia arrested on Tuesday a 13-year-old high school student in a school called al-Hagayza in Sinbelawain for allegedly sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl while she was on school grounds.
The parents of students gathered in front of the school to withdraw their children and demand an investigation into the incident.
Major General Mohamed Sharkawy, head of Daqahlia Security Directorate received a tip saying parents of students at Hagayza School had gathered outside the school to protest a sexual assault by a 13-year-old high school student against a seven-year-old girl inside the elementary school's bathrooms while security guards were absent.
Police forces moved to the school and the older student was arrested. The girl's father filed a claim with the incident and the Daqahlia Education Directorate started investigating the incident to take legal measures against the school's officials over negligence.
