The prosecution ordered Friday the detention of seven Ultras Ahlawy members four days pending investigation over clashes that occured on Thursday evening between the security forces and fans in Cairo Stadium.
The Interior Ministry said in a statement Thursday that after Al-Ahly football team was handed the African Super Cup, fans chanted against the police and threw bottles and fireworks at the security forces in the Stadium, leading to the injury of 10 officers and 15 soldiers.
According to the statement, fans set fire to a police car and two private cars on leaving the stadium. It added a number of rioters were arrested.
