Security was stepped up on Friday in different parts of Giza in anticipation of marches or demonstrations by supporters of deposed President Mohamed Morsy after the prayers.
Police forces were deployed in squares, near mosques, on Murad Street and around Cairo University, and armored vehicles were stationed outside the Giza Security Directorate and the Saudi embassy.
