Security source: Suicide bomber likely to have carried out Taba blast

Security source said on Monday that a suicide bomber is likely to have carried out the blast that hit the the tourist bus near Taba on Sunday, which left three South Koreans and the Egyptian driver killed and 13 others injured.
 
Officials were quick to condemn the incident. “Terrorism surpassed humanity and religion through all the terrorist processes. What happens violates humanity,” said Major General abdel Fattah Othman, deputy interior minister for public relations and information affairs.
 
He added that the Taba blast marks qualitative shift in terrorist actions, but vowed to step up protection against such attacks “We are able to confront all schemes,” he said.
 
“Instructions were given to draw security plans to secure tourists and will be changed in accordance with incidents,” he told the privately-owned TV channel MBC Masr on Sunday adding that the accident is likely to have been carried out by a suicide bomber.
 
“Preliminary information indicate that the bomb was placed while the bus was stopping,” he added indicating that investigations are taking place to collect more accurate details.
