Cairo security services have said they had apprehended three for smuggling rocket manufacturing materials to extremist elements.
According to Cairo security investigation services, the trio used their shipping company near Downtown Cairo to smuggle fiberglass, which detectives said could be used to upgrade rockets' launching range, to extremist elements in the restive Sinai Peninsula.
Authorities said the suspects confessed to being aware that the material could be used for missile-making, and that they had been awarded financially for the supply.
Security also said one of them, a petroleum engineer, admitted making a deal with a Syrian national to supply the material to Arish, South Sinai and the Palestinian Gaza Strip.
