Security measures tightened at metro, railroad ahead of new year, mid-year exams

Transportation Minister Galal Saeed has instructed leaders of the National Railways Authority and the Egyptian Company for Metro Management and Operation to be on high alert ahead of the New Year celebrations and the mid-year exams, in order to guarantee safety and security to all commuters.

During his meeting will officials of the metro company and railways authority on Monday, Saeed stressed the necessity that maintenance teams spread along the three metro lines to fix any malfunctions that could affect the flow of trains or the system at the stations.

He also commanded that instructions be given to drivers to stick closely to the duration of time that trains should stop at stations, in accordance with the operations schedule.

The minister highlighted the importance of keeping the trains and stations clean, as well as cooperating with traffic police to secure the three metro lines.
