Security forces dispersed early on Tuesday a surprise protest organized by Muslim Brotherhood supporters in the 6th of October City, west of Cairo.
According to security sources, the protesters hurled four molotov cocktails at the officers, who responded with tear gas.
The sources added that the protesters managed to escape arrest.
The supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood and former Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi have staged frequent protests since the ouster of Morsi by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in 2013.
Thousands of group sympathizers have since been prosecuted over charges related to violence and the violation of protest laws.
