Security Chief: Over 27,000 Egyptians arrive from Libya

The total number of Egyptians returning from Libya via the Salloum exit has reached approximately 27,808 people since start of the crisis, says Major General al-Anany Hammouda, security chief of the Marsa Matrouh province.

In remarks on Tuesday, Hammouda said 734 Egyptians returned from Libya over the past 24 hours. He highlighted the swift measures taken on their arrival.

Egypt earlier called on citizens in Libya to return fearing threats by terrorist groups, especially in the wake of the beheadings of 21 Egyptian Copts by IS in Libya last month.
