Security cameras have managed to identify the shooters of a policeman who was killed on his way home in Beni Suef early Tuesday.
Beni Suef prosecutors said the policeman, Sergeant Abdellatif Mohamed Abdellatif Diab, was on his way home on his police motorbike before the attackers shot him down.
Medical examiners said he sustained gunshots to his heart.
A cab driver was also injured from a gunshot to his shoulder during the incident.
Hundreds of army and police personnel have been killed in attacks since the overthrow of the Muslim Brotherhood-led government in 2013. While attacks in the Sinai Peninsula have been claimed by Islamic State affiliates, authorities blame attacks in Cairo and other governorates on the outlawed Brotherhood.
