Second stage of Egypt parlt polls to be more difficult

The second stage of Egypt's parliamentary elections will be more difficult than the first phase, said member of the supreme committee at Nation's Future Party Marawan Younis.

He, meanwhile, expected the continuation of the party's success in this stage.

He also said that this is the last chance for the parties to compensate their failure in the first stage.

The party is capable of attaining the first rank in the second phase of the parliamentary polls, he added in a statement issued by the party.

Elections for the second stage will be held for Egyptians abroad on November 21, 22, while voters in Egypt will go to the polls on November 22, 23.

The second stage will include the remaining 13 governorates: Cairo, Qaliyoubia, Daqahliya, Menoufia, Gharbiya, Kafr el Sheikh, Sharqiya, Damietta, Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, North Sinai, and South Sinai.

In the case of a run-off, voting abroad will take place on November 30 and December 1, while voting in Egypt will be on December 1-2.

A total of 282 seats will be up for competition in the second phase of parliamentary polls, with 222 seats for independents and 60 seats for party-based lists.

The 222 independents will be elected from 102 constituencies, and the 60 party-based candidates will come from two constituencies (one with 45 seats and the other with 15 seats).
