Second edition of Cairo Sustainable Energy Week kicks off

The second edition of Cairo Sustainable Energy Week (CSEW) kicked off on Tuesday, under the patronage of Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit and Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Esmat.

The three-day event is organized by the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE).

The opening session was attended by Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad, AL Assistant Secretary General Hossam Zaki, Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) Nasser Kamel, and the Chairman of the RCREEE’s Board of Trustees, and representative of Kuwait Ahmed al Dossari.

The CSEW will feature more than 30 dialogue sessions, with the participation of 150 speakers including decision-makers, policy makers, energy planners, resource managers, network operators, industrialists, investors, and experts.

These sessions provide an ideal platform for exchanging ideas and visions on the best ways to achieve a sustainable energy transition in Egypt in particular and the Arab region as a whole.

The CSEW provides a space for dialogues and discussions on the current energy landscape. Topics span robust energy systems, resource management, sustainable infrastructure, energy efficiency, low-carbon technologies and widespread adoption of renewable energy in the MENA region.
