Ahmed Zaki Badr, the education minister, has authorized governors to take measures to prevent thanaweya amma (the last two years of high school) exams from being leaked.
In a press release yesterday Badr said his ministry has coordinated with governorates to guarantee that the exams, scheduled to start next Saturday and end on 27 June, follow proper procedures, referring in particular to the method of transporting the papers.
Badr also said he has written directly to governors about their responsibilities concerning the transportation of examination papers and the collection of students’ written papers, in coordination with security and the education ministry.
Security directories in Cairo have put together plans for securing the whole process using armored vehicles and heavy security.
