The Saudi Embassy in Cairo issued a statement on Thursday regarding the disappearance of a Saudi citizen within the Egyptian capital.
The embassy affirmed that since the first day Saudi citizen Hattan bin Ghazi Shata vanished in Cairo, it has initiated its procedures with authorities in Egypt which immediately began their investigation procedures into the case.
The authorities checked surveillance cameras and were able to recover footage of his exit from the area where lives in at the Fifth Settlement neighborhood before his disappearance, according to the embassy.
It pointed out that the Egyptian security authorities are still conducting intensive searches for Shata under close follow-up from the embassy and in coordination with the citizen’s family.
The embassy expressed its hope that these efforts will be met with success and that Shata will be found safely.
