The Saudi interior ministry on Tuesday executed two Egyptians who had kidnapped and tortured a 9-year-old girl for three and a half years, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
A ministry statement published by the agency said Mohamed Genidy Nafea and his sister Gamalat Genidy Nafea had lured the child out of the Holy Shrine in Medina before kidnapping her at their residence.
The male convict had raped his hostage, the statement said, adding that security authorities arrested the pair and charged them after interrogations.
The high court and appeals court approved the death penalty in the case, the statement said.
