Four of the most famous films of Egyptian cinema are being restored and re-presented during the coming period, so that cinema audiences from different generations will get to know them, through the Cairo International Film Festival and the Red Sea International Film Festival.
The management of the Red Sea International Film Festival announced the start of the restoration of two Egyptian films, “Khali Balak Min ZoZo” (Watch Out for Zozo) and “Gharam Fi El Karnak” (Love in Karnak). The restoration process is underway in the Media Production City in Egypt.
It is scheduled that “Gharam Fi El Karnak” and “Khali Balak Min ZoZo” will be shown at the Red Sea International Film Festival, in its second session, which is scheduled to start on the first of December.
The management of the Cairo International Film Festival, headed by actor Hussein Fahmy, is also working on restoring two other important Egyptian films, which will be shown in the 44th session, which will be held from November 13 to 22.
The two films are “Maze of Justice: Diary of a Country Prosecutor,” by Tawfiq Saleh, which was produced in 1969, and the second is “Oghneya Ala El Mamar” (A Song on the Passage) by Ali Abdel Khaleq, which was shown in 1972.
Hussein Fahmy, President of the CIFF, explained that the restoration of the two films will be carried out in cooperation with Khaled Abdel-Galil, Advisor to the Minister of Culture for Cinema Affairs and supervisor of cinema activities at the Holding Company for Cultural and Film Industries, which in turn will provide all the necessary facilities for the restoration process.
