FIFA has officially announced that Saudi Arabia has won the bid to host the 2034 World Cup.
This makes Saudi Arabia the first Arab country to host the tournament solely under the new format with 48 teams from all over the world.
The 2026 World Cup is set to take place in Canada, the US and Mexico.
The 2030 World Cup will be held in Spain, Morocco and Portugal, while three matches will be played in South America.
Saudi Arabia is planning to host the 2034 World Cup finals in five cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Khobar, NEOM, and Abha.
The FIFA President hailed Saudi Arabia’s outstanding sports infrastructure, noting that the kingdom has all the necessary elements to host this major global event.
